Ochoa's fourth win opens up another qualifying spot on the ADT Points List

By claiming her fourth title in a row and her fifth this season at the Ginn OPEN, Mexico's Lorena Ochoa opened up an additional ADT Championship qualifying spot on the ADT Points List. Ochoa, who already qualified for the season-ending ADT Championship when she won the HSBC Women's Champions earlier this season, already enabled one more ADT Points spot to be added when she claimed the second major of her career at the Kraft Nabisco Championship.

Sweden's Annika Sorenstam stays on top of the first-half ADT Points list with 614,281 points, and rookie Yani Tseng jumped into second place with 428,722 after her strong second-place finish at the Ginn OPEN. Currently, nine players will qualify for the ADT Championship through the first half of the ADT Points List, which will culminate after the second major of the LPGA season, the McDonald's LPGA Championship Presented by Coca-Cola.

The following is an up-to-date ADT Points list:
1 Annika Sorenstam 614,281
2 Yani Tseng 428,722

4 Suzann Pettersen 368,594

The LPGA Playoffs 2008, a yearlong competitive structure that splits the official LPGA season into two halves, culminates at the ADT Championship, Nov. 20-23, at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Fla. Fifteen players from each half qualify for the ADT Championship, and two additional wildcards will be determined following the Lorena Ochoa Invitational Presented by Banamex and Corona.

Out of the 32 spots in the ADT Championship, 13 will be awarded to winners of Winner Events, which are defined as official LPGA Tour events with a purse of at least $2 million. The remaining spots in each half will be awarded using a performance-based points system–ADT Points – to determine ADT Championship qualifiers who are not otherwise qualified.

The next Winner Event comes this week when the LPGA Tour heads to South Florida for the Stanford International Pro-Am at The Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club in Aventura, Fla.
