Kelli Kuehne knows a thing or two about determination and discipline and during a recent visit to the Ronald McDonald House in Wilmington, Del., the seven-year Tour star spoke candidly about her success in overcoming the obstacles of diabetes with families also afflicted by the disease. Kuehne, who was diagnosed with diabetes at 10-years old, doesn't remember her life before blood testing and insulin shots. However, since switching to the insulin pump, Kuehne lives a completely normal life and is able to control her disease with much more ease.

A true champion of her sport and disease, Kuehne assured the children that while diabetes is a serious affliction, it should not deter them from pursuing their dreams to the highest degree. Kuehne offered encouraging words on how she has been able to transform adversity to advantage, attributing much of her success to the strict structure and healthy habits diabetes has instilled in her.

Kuehne handed out personally autographed golf balls to each child who asked her a question.
Highly recommending the use of the insulin pump, the never-shy Kuehne revealed the different ways she has found to comfortably wear the device. She explained how it has made her life on Tour so much easier when traveling all over the world through different time zones as well as in her daily life on the golf course.
