When you are approach the green with a shot similar to this the first thing you have to do is decide what wedge to hit and what yardage. I have found a really easy formula to be able to help myself with this and that is to have three different positions but I like to call them gears. So gear down #1 is when you swing your hands just chest high and then through. Gear down #2 you swing your hands about waist high and then through. Gear down #3 you swing your hands only about hip high and than through.
Each one of those gears will hit the ball a different distance with the same club. So for this yardage, I think I will use my sand wedge on gear down #1. So remember those three gear downs-chest high, waist high and hip high. You can use it with any wedge in your bag.
