Chris Brady with Greg Norman at the PGA Show.

Happy New Year and welcome to my first rookie blog! Since qualifying for the LPGA Tour, life has been an exciting whirlwind. I had my first family vacation since grade school in West Palm Beach with my mom, brother and dad. I welcomed the relaxation and reconnection with my family! Then everybody traveled to Clearwater to spend Christmas with my grandparents, Bob and Milbra Brady. After eating some great home cooking, I flew out to Las Vegas where my Aunt Bernice and Uncle Bob live for New Years. I got to play golf, see Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian, gamble for the first time (I left Vegas $25 up!) and get the grand tour of Las Vegas! Also, I met up with good friends David Price and Jensen Lewis (past Vanderbilt baseball players) who were in Vegas with a group of Vanderbilt baseball players. David just got drafted to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and Jensen pitches for the Cleveland Indians. The world of professional athletics is smaller than you think!

I came back to Florida ready to train and spent a good bit of time with my coach, Tim Sheredy. Another first for me was the PGA show. The LPGA asked me to sign autographs at their booth and I was utterly amazed at the size of this show. I signed autographs with Christina Kim, Nicole Castrale and Brittany Lincicome (an old junior golf buddy). I met so many amazing people, including Greg Norman, along with seeing some familiar faces from Vanderbilt and even high school! I met up with Brandt Snedekar and Luke List, two Vandy alumn professionals, along with past US Open Champion Lou Graham who I met in Nashville while playing at Vanderbilt. Seeing familiar faces in a time of chaotic newness always helps. Since the show, my mom has come down to Florida to escape the colder weather in North Carolina and help me stay organized until I sign with an agent. I am getting to try new restaurants in the area with her and am enjoying a great practice partner/partner in crime on my jetski. Not only was she a US Junior Champion and has a decorated amateur career, but she can still slalom ski better than me.

Future plans include Monday qualifying for both events in Hawaii, a Future's tour event and the Safeway. I know things must sound overwhelming, but juggling two degrees and being on a top five college team has trained me well. I have a great team of friends from Nashville and my family that support and help me daily that I can't thank enough! As my college teammate always says, "everything always gets done," and working a little bit at a time will accumulate into big accomplishments." I am excited to get on the road and compete because that is truly my passion in life--competing. Stay tuned for more life in the fast lane!
