WELCOME!
We are excited to host our second annual LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Team Championship & Academy at the Kiawah Island Club (River Course) this year! The event will begin with registration and craft activities on Sunday, June 9 and end on Wednesday, June 12 with an awards ceremony and luncheon. Great competition, lessons, activities, games and parties will fill each day.
We have lined up some amazing LPGA and PGA instructors for the Academy and a challenging, yet fair, golf course for the Team Championship. The event will mirror the Girls Golf program with the emphasis on participants enjoying a fun and safe girls-only environment where they can learn to improve their golf game and connect with other Girls Golf members from across the U.S.A.
Girls Golf teaches more than just the basics of the game of golf…we inspire girls for the game of life!

|
|
|
Following the philosophy of the Girls Golf program, girls will be admitted into the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Team Championship & Academy based on their commitment and participation in the program. Playing ability is not a criterion for choosing teams that will play in the Championship and players will be placed in flights based on ability. The Academy is open to any level of player who meets the eligibility requirements.
Please see eligibility information for the Championship and the Academy in their respective sections below.

Why is it important to attend this event?
As a dedicated member of Girls Golf, this is a tremendous opportunity for the girls to see what it is like to travel to either play in a tournament or attend a golf academy and really focus on developing their golf skills for three straight days at an amazing facility.
Team Championship participants may choose to compete within the competitive division (Bell-McIntire flight) or one of our two additional flights (Sandy LaBauve or Vicky Hurst flights), where girls who may be newer to competitive events will be playing. Yardages will be set according to the playing ability of our participants. Based on last year’s feedback, the players felt that yardages were very manageable.
The Academy boasts some of the best LPGA and PGA teaching professionals and focuses on developing skills that will help girls improve and feel more comfortable and confident on the golf course. It is ideal for all levels of players! Groups will be established according to age and ability.
For all of the participants of both the Team Championship and Academy, this will be a life changing experience where the girls will interact with other Girls Golf members from across the country and leave feeling energized and excited about golf.
