Happy New Year!
2009 is here! It is a new year and there are a lot of opportunities out there, just waiting for us to show up!
This is my first year out on tour and I am really excited to get started! I look forward to meeting new people, visiting new places and learning a lot! I hope to share my experience as a rookie with you on my LPGA blog this year!
By the end of the year, I hope you all have had the opportunity to get to know me better. My name is Anna Nordqvist, I'm 21 years old, and I'm from Sweden. I grew up in a town called Eskilstuna, about an hour and a half south of Stockholm. My family - my parents, my two brothers, and myself - are very interested in sports. I tried seven different sports growing up before starting to play golf when I was 13, and here I am!
I have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience so many great things through golf. I have had such a great time playing on the Swedish National Team for five years and their continued support has meant a lot to me and my golfing career. Also, playing college golf for the past two and a half years at Arizona State University was one of the best experiences ever! Hopefully this is just the beginning, and I look forward to seeing what 2009 and the future will bring!
