Natalie Gulbis blogs about 2009 ESPYs experience

The ESPY's were truly an amazing experience from start to finish. Tuesday I played in the V Foundation Charity Golf Tournament with other athletes and celebrities, followed by every girls dream, a trip to Rodeo Drive. World renowned designer Max Mara was kind enough to set me up with a beautiful dress for the show, huge thanks to him!

Wednesday was comprised of plenty of prep work, luckily I had a hair stylist and a Bobbie Brown makeup artist. I was still nervous after rehearsals, thank goodness Samuel L. Jackson loosened me up with some jokes. My red carpet experience was incredible, so many photographers and so little time. Once we got inside the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles I began my "Behind the Scenes" work for ESPN, interviewing other athletes about the show and their experiences so far. I got the opportunity to speak with Michael Phelps, Kevin Durant, Evander Holyfield, Mark Sanchez, Aaron Rogers, and Samuel L. Jackson. The guys could not have been nicer back in the G room, a private hospitality space for celebrities and athletes sponsored by Gatorade.

When the show started I was excitied and ready to go, and I think Dara and I did a pretty good job of presenting the award for Best International Male Athlete. The behind the scenes show will air Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week, hopefully it turns out well. I was able to catch up with my friend Danica Patrick, and it was great to have Paula Creamer at the show as well. A big congratulations to Lorena Ochoa for winning Female Golfer of the Year, she diffinitely deserved it based on her 2008 season. The highlight of my week was seeing Kobe Bryant and the Williams Sisters, such huge stars that have done so much for their respective sports.

I have attached some pictures from the show, enjoy!
