Their efforts last year raised over $25,000, so the pair decided to return this summer and host a tournament and four more clinics. With the money they raised this year they'll be able to help local kids pursue golf beyond high school.
"It seems like junior golf is fading a little bit on the Cape," Wood said. "I think it's partly the economy, because golf isn't a cheap game to play. But I think a lot has to do with the technology age. Kids come home from school now and they can just hop on the internet and spend all their time on that, and they don't even think about playing golf. We think it's great that the Cape Cod Junior Golf Association has a tour in the summer and we want to promote that."
Clinic Schedule:
July 3 at Blue Rock,
July 17 at The Captains,
July 31 at the Country Club of New Seabury and
August 14 at the Vineyard Golf Club
