Hello!
I can't believe it is already September and this summer has just flown by so fast. I am having a blast out on tour, and I am truly living my dream! This summer has just been amazing. Going back to Europe for four weeks was so much fun. Even though I only had four or five days at home in Sweden, it is always great to come home to European turf for a while. I finally got to play my first round of golf in Sweden (!!!) this year, at Halmstad Golf Club, the host of the 2007 Solheim Cup, along with a couple of other Swedish athletes at "Hello Sweden's" annual Pro-Am. Very inspiring day!
My mum joined me out on tour for the tournaments in Evian, British and Wales. It is always nice to have the opportunity to spend some time with your family on the road! Mum actually ended up caddying for me in Wales. I think she was pretty happy they had pull carts so she didn't have to carry my tour bag. We had a great week and she did an awesome job, but no worries, she's back at her normal job again now….
These past three weeks have probably been the three most exciting weeks all year. I had the honor to represent Europe in the Solheim Cup and be a part of Alison Nicholas' team. Playing in the Solheim Cup is definitely the highlight of my career so far! Having the opportunity to play on the same team as players like Helen Alfredson, Mimmi Hjorth, Suzann Pettersen and Laura Davies - players I watched growing up - was such a great experience. The team spirit was awesome and our captain had put in so much work and did an amazing job, so she should be very proud of her performance!
Anyway, the atmosphere was just unbelievable. It was a great match and I would like to congratulate the U.S. team for a great performance!
I just headed back to Phoenix after two great weeks in Portland and Canada. It was my first trip to Canada and definitely not my last! It reminded me a lot of Sweden, and staying at one of my good friend's and former teammates' place made it feel just like home! Nothing beats home cooked meals!
I can't tell you how nice it is to finally get back home, sleep in my own bed, see my friends, and actually be able to unpack my suitcase for once. I think I appreciate the time I get to spend at home more now than before. I am already excited to go back out again, but for now I am just going to enjoy being home.
