Phew!! It has been a real busy past few months. Since I last wrote, I have been played in quite a few tournaments in quite a few places. I played on the LET in Finland, Austria, and Spain. I also played on the LPGA Tour in Portland and Arkansas. Finally, I am off for a week of some R&R and gearing up for next week in Alabama :)
Over all, I have played some good golf and had some funny stories along the way. For instance, my Spain trip was a huge ordeal!! I left from Arkansas early Monday morning after the event and had all sorts of plane trouble (running out fuel, the plane getting struck by lightning, etc) which left me missing flights and not arriving until late Tuesday in Spain. Well, all would have been fine, however NONE of my bags showed up. Of course I was second off in the morning Pro-Am, so I scrambled for some clothes from friends and played with some random thrown-together set of clubs my caddy helped organize. Pro-Am day was fine enough with none of my own equipment, but then tournament day arrived and still no sign of any of my bags. Thankfully a Ping rep was on site, and he and I scrambled until all hours the night before the first round. We were able to track down a conforming set of mixed clubs, and a friend had a spare putter and wedges... Well, I definitely had nothing to lose right? Sure enough, I went out there with a good approach to the whole mess and shot 6-under 65 with my random set!! Love it...keeping that story and ordeal in memory to call back on time to time...make the best with what you have!
I'm back home now, practicing and relaxing. Hard to believe there is only a month or so left until off season. I am done playing over in Europe for the year, and now will focus on finishing strong in the LPGA events. Hopefully things run a little more smoothly in my travels and I won't have to report any more shenanigans as it pertains to my bags...talk soon :)
