46 LPGA Legends to Compete in the Legends Tour Open Championship

Innisbrook, FL, November 11, 2010 – Additional player commitments were announced this week for the ISPS Legends Tour Open Championship. With a field of 46, this year’s Open Championship boasts two more players than last year, and plenty of star power. The local qualifier spot will remain unclaimed until the qualifying event is held on Thursday, November 18.

The field will feature five LPGA and World Golf Hall of Famers among many other LPGA fan-favorites. Twenty-seven time LPGA tournament winner Jane Blalock will compete in her first Legends Tour Open Championship this year. After leading the Tour for several years as the CEO, Jane looks forward to putting on a different hat for a change, “I’m playing really well right now and I wanted to be a part of the competition. It’s exciting to be on the business side, but I still love the rush of competing.” Also in the championship field is 2011 Solheim Cup Captain Rosie Jones who won the 2007 LTOC when it was played overseas.

The full field is available here.

Advance tickets are still available for $10 through Ruth Eckerd Hall. Event tickets can also be purchased at the gate for $15. There is no charge for Friday’s Pro-Am, but spectators are welcome to make a donation to the Hoffman Institute at the entrance gate. Children 17 and under and military gain free entrance every day. All ticket proceeds benefit the Marcia P. Hoffman Institute for the Performing Arts at Ruth Eckerd Hall.

A very limited number of pro-am spots are available. Please contact Megan Gardner at 617-997-6194 for more information.
