  • Earned Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year honors, mathematically eliminating the rest of the 2009 LPGA rookie class with three events remaining on the schedule.

  • Became the first South Korean to top the season-ending money list.

  • Became the season's first Rolex First-Time Winner with an eight-stroke come-from-behind victory, the largest of the 2009 LPGA Tour season, at the HSBC Women's Champions, which was also her first official victory as a LPGA member; also won the P&G Beauty NW Arkansas Championship Presented by John Q. Hammons on the second hole of sudden-death playoff, and the Wegmans LPGA, where she crossed the $1 million mark in season and career earnings and earned the largest margin of victory on the 2009 LPGA Tour - seven strokes.

  • Recorded 12 top-10 finishes in 25 events including runner-up at the J Golf Phoenix LPGA International Presented by Mirassou Winery, third at both the McDonald's LPGA Championship Presented by Coca-Cola and the Samsung World Championship, and a tie for third at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational Presented by Banamex and Corona Light.

  • Carded a career-low 63 in the final round of the CN Canadian Women's Open where she tied for 10th.

  • Tied for first in 2009 rounds under par and greens in regulation putting average.

  • Won the Masters GC Ladies on the LPGA of Japan (JLPGA).
