On Other Tours: Pressel wins Salonpas Cup on JLPGA

Morgan Pressel shot 9-under-par (71-68-70-70=271) to win the Salonpas Cup, the first major championship of the season on the Japan LPGA (JLPGA), on Sunday. Pressel's four-day tally was three shots better than Sakura Yokomine, currently No. 14 in the Rolex Rankings, and five shots better than Rolex Rankings No. 3 Yani Tseng. The 21-year-old is a two-time LPGA Tour winner and a two-time member of the U.S. Solheim Cup Team.

“I’m thrilled to get back into the winner’s circle, especially in a prestigious event like the Salonpas Cup,” said Pressel. “It was an honor to travel to Japan for the JLPGA Tour’s first major of the year, and to play well against such a great field. I look forward to building upon this victory, and I will remember the experience fondly for the rest of my career.”
