The LPGA Tour had a busy Monday, as a number of players prepared for a trip to the future home of the Olympic Games – Rio de Janeiro – for the HSBC LPGA Brasil Cup 2010. Meanwhile, defending LPGA Championship Presented by Wegmans winner Anna Nordqvist spent some time in Rochester, New York speaking to media about her experience playing the updated Locust Hill Country Club course, which will play host to the LPGA’s second major championship of the season this June. The course has undergone a number of changes that should make for a “very challenging, but imminently fair test.”
Rochester Democrat and Chronicle writer Sal Maiorana also reported that ticket sales were running about “50 percent higher than the previous record number for Rochester's regular LPGA tour event,” and that tournament officials believe there could be “about 25,000 spectators for each of the four competitive days June 24-27.”

While Nordqvist talked golf, fellow Tour player Eunjung Yi worked on an entirely different skill set on Monday. Yi, defending champion of the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic Presented by Kroger, spent her media day with the Toledo Symphony in Toledo, Ohio. Yi received music lessons from a number of the Symphony’s youngest members, including a five year old violinist. She even attempted to participate in a trio by day’s end.
