Performance Spotlight: Song-Hee Kim

PERFORMANCE SPOTLIGHT: SONG-HEE KIM

Song-Hee Kim hasn’t been in the winner’s circle yet on the LPGA Tour, but it surely won’t be long before she gets there, based on her strong performance so far in 2010. Ranked 12 in the Rolex Rankings, Kim is the highest ranked player without a win.

Kim leads the Tour in top-10 finishes – eight top 10s out of nine starts (89%) – and also in rounds under par – 24 out of 30 (80%). Her scoring average of 69.67 is ranked second and she is tied for second in rounds in the 60s – 15 of 30 (50%).

And if all that isn’t impressive enough she is ranked third both in total birdies (123) and greens hit in regulation – 245 out of 324 (75%).

Now in her fourth year on the LPGA Tour, Kim is coming off of a million-dollar season in 2009 where she also carded her career-low score of 62. She posted her career-best finishes in 2008 with a solo second place at both the Corona Championship and the Samsung World Championship.

Kim was the 2006 Duramed Futures Tour Rookie of the Year and placed first on the season-ending money list to earn her LPGA Tour card for 2007.

You can watch Song-Hee Kim in this week’s LPGA Championship Presented by Wegmans. All four rounds will be aired on Golf Channel.
