Players support LPGA State Farm Classic charity

Before the 35th Anniversary LPGA State Farm Classic got underway, Commissioner Mike Whan, Haeji Kang and Gloria Park of South Korea, and Amy Hung of Taiwan met with the Midwest Affiliate of St. Jude Children's Hospital in Peoria, Ill. The clinic, which currently services more than 70 children, is one of the charities that benefits from the LPGA State Farm Classic. It has received a portion of the $3.2 million the tournament has given out in its 35 years.

The players saw first hand how the tournament contributes to local charities and is making a difference in the lives of children with cancer. The outing included a tour of the current facility, introductions to a few patients, an inside look at the construction area for a new clinic, and a meet and greet with pro-am participants at Pekin Country Club.
