Pernilla Lindberg - Rookie Blog Three

I'm writing this blog at 10,000+ feet somewhere between Denver and Oklahoma City. Over the last four weeks I've been playing in four tournaments, so this will be my first time at home since early June. It's going to be nice, however, I wish I was at Oakmont playing in the U.S. Women's Open this week. I played the sectional qualifier at Shady Oaks in Forth Worth, TX in May. We were playing for three spots and I finished fourth. So, I'm on the alternate list and I'll be waiting all the way up until Thursday to maybe maybe get a phone call and the chance to play in my first U.S. Women's Open.

Since my last blog, I've played in five LPGA events and one Ladies European Tour event. The results have been a bit up and down and overall I'm disappointed in the way I've been playing. However, I'm really enjoying everything so far and having lots of fun every week. Besides playing a lot of golf, I've not had the chance to see or do too much over this last month. Last Monday, when we were driving from Rochester to Toledo, I went to Niagara Falls with a couple of friends. I had never been there before and it was spectacular! Even though I'm on the road as much as I am, I rarely get to see much more than the golf courses and some restaurants so this was a nice break from that.

I've been staying in private housing almost every tournament so far this year and that's something I really enjoy doing. It is nice to come home to a house at the end of every day instead of an empty hotel room week after week. I've only had great experiences with private housing so far and I'm sure I'll return back to some of these homes if I ever get the chance (and if they let me come back of course...).

Like I said, I'm going to enjoy some time at home now. Already next week though, I'll be sitting on a plane again. I'll go home to Sweden for a little bit before the RICOH Women's British Open. After the Open I'll stay in Europe to play in the Irish Open as well as the Wales Open. I'm really looking forward to this whole stretch of tournaments over in Europe. One big challenge will be to pack for these events though - the weather is very unpredictable over there!

I'm hoping to be able to tell you about a successful trip to Europe in my next blog. Until then, follow me and all the other girls online or come out and watch us if you ever get the opportunity!
