In preparation for the 2011 Solheim Cup, U.S. Captain Rosie Jones and Assistant Captains Juli Inkster and Sherri Steinhauer, made a visit to Killeen Castle to start preparations for next year's event. The captains toured the grounds and familiarized themselves with the golf course. The captains then spoke with media and had a photo shoot with the Solheim Cup trophy in front of Killeen Castle.
Jones and Christina Kim also found time to take part in the first ever Killeen Castle Fishing Challenge against European Captain Alison Nicholas and Sophie Gustafson.
