My name is Linda Kerr and I am Cristie Kerr's MOM.
On September 15, 2010, Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City, New Jersey, in partnership with the Liberty Health Foundation and Cristie Kerr, opened the first of what promises to be a series of "patient friendly" Women's Health Centers that focus on and make available to patients of all genders and ages, the rapid diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer and related medical issues. At the dedication of the Center, I listened to the accolades by government officials, Hospital Administrators, physicians and breast cancer researchers for my daughter and her efforts in the ongoing fight against breast cancer. Proud cannot describe how I felt at that moment, nor can it describe how I feel about Cristie every day of my life. She is not only a credit to her sport, her family and her country, she is truly an inspiration to everyone who hopes to achieve a better life through giving. Looking back, I find it amazing that my misfortune in getting breast cancer became the impetus of one very exceptional young woman to achieve what she has for humanity. I am so very proud to, in small part, have been responsible for her being.

Cristie Kerr founded her Birdies for Breast Cancer charity shortly after her mother was diagnosed with the disease. Kerr hosts an annual Cristie Kerr Birdies for Breast Cancer Charity Classic and recently cut the ribbon on the Cristie Kerr Women’s Health Center in Jersey City, New Jersey. Kerr also raises funds for the cause through the sale of her wine, Curvature, which is produced in partnership with Pride Mountain Vineyards. Suzanne Pride, the owner of the vineyard, is a breast cancer survivor. Renowned jewelry designer Kwiat also created a Birdies for Breast Cancer collection featuring their signature star in pink gold accented with pink sapphires.
