Well, it's been a while since I've written another blog and a lot has happened since then. First of all, we just wrapped up our season on the Duramed FUTURES Tour about a month ago. I had an absolute blast this year on tour. I made new friends, got closer to old ones, and learned a ton about myself and my golf game. I see this year as a success not only because I got my 2011 LPGA card, but but also because I feel that I improved as a golfer and a person. I am so excited to finally get my card for 2011 and put my game to the test against the best players in the world. I still don't think it has set in yet, but I'm sure it will the second I set foot on the first tournament site. I had some unexpected guests come to the end of the year tournament - MY FAMILY!!! I couldn't have gone out with a bigger bang than having my family there to share that special moment of receiving my card. Martin actually surprised me by flying my Mom, Dad, brother, and sister. However, the surprise really didn't work out as planned. My family were supposed to fly into Albany, NY, where our event was, but for some reason their flight from NYC got cancelled. So then Martin was panicking because he wanted it to be a surprise. Long story short: we ended up having to drive to NYC to pick them up which was no big deal to me cuz I was just so pumped they were there! I'm pretty sure if I had the time I would have driven to New Mexico and picked them up myself! Nothing was better than standing up there on the stage looking into the crowd and seeing the people I love and the tears of joy running down my mom's face. I have never felt such joy to have made my family so proud!! That day definitely went down in the books as one of the greatest days ever!
Speaking of greatest days ever....Another very exciting thing that happened is that I got engaged!!!! I definitely went out with a bang this year, and I can see it only getting better. It has been very exciting and lots of fun planning for the wedding. This year has been completely awesome for Martin and I. It's gonna be real tough to top 2010...haha. Now all we have to do is both win next year, since we will both be rookies on the big show.
So as of late, I have still been on the road, but this time on the opposite side of the ropes (which is nice). I have been traveling with Martin on the Nationwide Tour and cheering him on to victory. Right now we are in San Jacinto, California where it has been super hot, but beautiful. We have an awesome host family for the week that has a house on top of a mountain where it's very peaceful and relaxing ( just what we need!!). I am very excited to get back to Dallas for these next two weeks and do more wedding planning and to get to sleep in my own bed.
We have a lot planned for our two weeks off. The next two Sundays we get to take connecting classes at our church to become members. I have never joined a church on my own, so that is awesome for me. I'm looking forward to heading out to Lakewood Country Club (where I practice in Dallas) and getting back in the swing of things. How am I supposed to compete with these girls if I don't get my game in top shape! Just thinking about playing out on the LPGA Tour full time just gives me tons of motivation to get better.
Well, hopefully I'll get to write at least one more blog before the year is over. I hope everyone enjoys what they have read all year and somewhat have gotten a little piece of my life's journey. I just want to take the time to thank God first of all for giving me the gifts to play golf, and my family and fiancé Martin for always being there for me and supporting me til the end, my sponsors back in Roswell and El Paso, my coach, and Adams Golf for all their help and awesome equipment. You guys are the BEST! until next time....
