Florida's Natural Moms Blog: Marcy Hart

Marcy Hart: The last 7 months have been so wonderful and amazing! People told us life would change dramatically once our baby girl arrived-- we just didn't know how great it would be.

Our baby girl, Reece Caroline was born on September 16, 2010 at 4:33 a.m. via C section. She was 6 days late and her heart rate was dropping with my contractions. Fortunately she was delivered healthy and weighing 8 lbs 2 oz. She is such a wonderful baby and we feel so blessed to have her in our lives. After learning we were going to be parents, I was unsure I would return to playing on tour. But with my husbands encouragement, I decided to give it one more try. I knew life on the road with our baby girl would be different. Especially with my husband at home with a job. He retired from caddying after the US Open last year, he is now a design consultant at Furnitureland South in High Point, NC-- the furniture capital of the world! However, I talked my retired parents into traveling with us. My mom is the nanny and my daddy is my caddy! They have made life on the road with a baby very easy.

So off to the west coast we go. North Carolina to Arizona is quite a long flight, especially with a 6 month old But she is such an angel and has hardly made a peep on any of the flights we have taken. ( I have my fingers crossed that she stays that way!) I was uncertain how I would play at the RR Donnelly Founders Cup, considering I practiced 1 week in February and 1 week before the event. I was pleasantly surprised to make the cut!

Now we are off to LA for the KIA Classic. I played really solid for the first 2 rounds to make the cut. I played great the 3rd round, and shot even par for the 3rd day in a row! I was feeling confident going into Sunday's round, but had no idea I would play so well & shoot my lowest round ever. I had eight birdies, no bogeys to shoot 65 & tie for 7th. My first top ten in 5 years, and I qualified for the Nabisco Championship! Nabisco didn't go as I planned, unfortunately I missed the cut. But it was great to return to Palm Springs for such a wonderful event.

Life has definitely changed. Hitting a bad shot or making a bogey just doesn't matter as much anymore. Our daughter is going to love me no matter how I play!
