Today I am in Springfield, Illinois playing in the 2011 LPGA State Farm Classic. Let me tell you a little about my week. For starters, I was fortunate enough to get paired with amazing housing! Marilyn lives here on the golf course and was kind enough to open her home to the LPGA players. How convenient it is to walk out the back door and onto the course!!
On Wednesday night, I was invited by my caddy to come watch the caddy go-cart race at a local amusement park here in town. Wow. The rules are.. there are no rules. But, the winner gets to drive a Mercedes-Benz convertible for the rest of the week AND gets their own parking spot in the player parking lot. It was hilarious watching these caddies battle it out. After a few elimination rounds, the caddies took a break and let the few players that were there have a turn. It was time to shake and bake! I'd like to blame it on my slow go-cart, but maybe it was my poor driving skills... regardless, I finished last. That's OK. Life will go on.
The weekend weather forecast for Springfield is looking good! Hope to see everyone out at the LPGA State Farm Classic this weekend. And don't forget to check out the caddy parking spot in the player parking lot.
