JACKSON, MI, AUGUST 7, 2011 – Lorie Kane’s nine birdies and consistent play kept her on top of the leaderboard and away from the competition, shooting a 6-under 65 at the 2011 Wendy’s Charity Challenge presented by Aveeno. Kane battled back after a couple of early round bogies and changeable weather to hold off Kris Tschetter who finished in solo second with a one-under 70. Tschetter had an early lead, but was not able to hold on once Kane stepped on the gas. Past Champion Rosie Jones was hard charging and attacked the course, but could not keep up with Kane or Tschetter and finished tied for third, even par, with Michele Redman who made her first appearance in Jackson. Two time winner Cindy Figg-Currier finished two-over and tied for 8th place with event hostess Elaine Crosby and Val Skinner.
About her win, Kane commented, “A win is a win and to be out here with all the Legends is an honor. I hit it well and made good putts; a great round!”
