Junthima Gulyanamitta of Thailand plays a shot during the final round of the LPGA Qualifying School at LPGA International on December 4, 2011 in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Hi everyone!! My name is Numa Gulyanamitta (gun-la-ya-na-mit-ta). Just in case you wondering how to pronounce it. >_

Let me start with a little introduction about myself. I'm from Rayong, Thailand. Rayong is on the east of Thailand by the coast. We are famous for our seafoods and fruits. They're all yummy, and I love them so much. I have three sisters. Two of them play golf and used to be on the Thai national team for the SEA games and the Asian Games. One of them is Russy Gulyanamitta. Some of you might know her. She is a former LPGA Tour member. My family owns a restaurant in Rayong called Ploenta Garden. So if you ever go to Thailand, be sure to stop by. Discounting is provided. I'm advertising our family business a little :))

I went to school in Rayong until high school. Then I was recruited by Purdue University in Indiana. I have been in the states for four years, and I'm still working on my English skills. I played basketball when I was in high school. I loved this sport as much as I loved golf back then. I also play piano, but haven't had a chance to practice at all since I went to Purdue. I like cooking and baking too! Blueberry cheesecake and brownies are my specialties. :))

At Purdue, my golf improved while I was there. It's hard to come from overseas and try to speak another language that I have little knowledge of. But I survived! College golf was so much fun. I achieved a lot while I was there. I won the BigTen conference 2011 and was named female athlete of the year at Purdue. We were second team all-American in 2011 and honorable mention team in 2010. We also won the NCAA Championship 2011 as a team - the first school in the Midwest and a first in the history of Purdue golf.

I came back to Thailand right after the final stage of Q-School and played in a couple tournaments in Asia. My first tournament as an LPGA member will be the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open this week. I'm excited to be playing in the tournament, but scared at the same time because of the expectations and pressure coming from people at home and myself. But I'll do my best. So please cheer for me and I'll do my best to keep my blog updated! See you next time!!

PS.

My English skills are not perfect yet, so please bear with me.
