Heading into the seventh event of the season So Yeon Ryu has a strong hold on the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year Race. Ryu made a name for herself on the LPGA Tour when she won the 2011 U.S. Women's Open. The South Korean leads Lexi Thompson by 71 points after competing in five events this season and recording two top-10 finishes at the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open and the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup.
Thompson has had a consistent season so far and is still within reach of the title with more than two thirds of the season left. The teen has finished within the top-25 in four of her five starts.
