LPGA.com caught up with Angela Stanford for a quick Q&A. Stanford talks about the keys to playing well at Sybase Match Play Championship and how she prepares for match play.
LPGA: Is there a different mind-set for match play than stroke play?
STANFORD: I think there is a different mind-set in match play. The biggest difference is no matter what you do on one hole the next hole gives you another chance, good or bad.
LPGA: Do you prepare any differently than you would a normal week?
STANFORD: I don't prepare any different for a match play event. You still have to make birdies.
LPGA: What is the key to playing well at Hamilton Farms?
STANFORD: Putting is the key to playing well at Hamilton Farms. The greens are big and you can have longer putts for birdie.
LPGA: How does it match with your game?
STANFORD: I think Hamilton Farms matches my game because you have to be hitting your irons well. Because the greens are so big, it helps to be more accurate.
LPGA: What are your favorite holes?
STANFORD: I enjoy playing Hamilton Farms. I really do enjoy all of the holes.
LPGA: What are you looking forward to that week?
STANFORD: I always look forward to Sybase because it is the only match play event on our schedule. Nice change of pace.
LPGA: What are your favorite things to do while in New Jersey?
STANFORD: While I am in the New Jersey area I enjoy going over to New York and trying to catch a few baseball games!
