The 2012 Summer Olympics have begun and many from all over the world will be watching their favorite athlete or sport hoping for their country to bring home the gold. LPGA.com caught up with several players to get their take on this year's Summer Olympics. Today Catriona Matthew takes time to answers a few question from her favorite event to watch, if she prefers Summer or Winter Olympics and a lot more.
 
LPGA: Do you have a favorite Summer Olympics moment?
MATTHEW: Daley Thompson winning the decathlon in Los Angeles.

LPGA: Who is your favorite Summer Olympics athlete?
MATTHEW: Michael Johnson
 
LPGA: What is your favorite sport to watch in the Summer Olympics?
MATTHEW: Athletics
 
LPGA: Which country do you think will win the most medals?
MATTHEW: Hopefully Britain,but realistically USA or Australia.
 
LPGA: Do you think Michael Phelps will win gold in all the events he swims?
MATTHEW: No
 
LPGA: Will you be rooting for Ryan Lochte or Michael Phelps?
MATTHEW: Neither. Never root for Americans in team competition!
 
LPGA: Which Summer Olympic sport would you like to play?
MATTHEW: Individual Sports: Heptathlon - Team Sports: Hockey
 
LPGA: Do you prefer the Summer or Winter Olympics?
MATTHEW: Summer
 
LPGA: Which Summer Olympics sport would you never want to try?
MATTHEW: Synchronized Swimming
 
LPGA: Which sport did you have no idea was in the Olympics?
MATTHEW: Trampoline
 
LPGA: If you were on the gymnastics team which event would you want to participate in?
MATTHEW: Uneven Bars
 
LPGA: If you were on a synchronized swimming team, what LPGA players would you want on your team?
MATTHEW: Would never want to do it as per question 9!
 
LPGA: How do you feel about golf being added to the Olympics in 2016?
MATTHEW: Good for the overall wide world growth of the game,however,I have reservations as to whether professional sports should be part of the Olympics.
 
LPGA: Is making the 2016 Olympics a goal of yours?
MATTHEW: Yes, I would love for the girls to see me take part in the Olympics,as they would then be of an age to appreciate it.
 
LPGA: What sport did Margaret Abbott play to become the first U.S. woman to win Olympic gold, in 1900?
MATTHEW: I have no idea!
 
LPGA: What would it mean to you to carry the Olympic Torch for your country?
MATTHEW: It would be a great honour and thrill
