So Yeon Ryu has a commanding lead of the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year race. The South Korean leads Lexi Thompson by 253 points and is well on her way to becoming the eighth player from her country to win the award.
Ryu has finished in the top-10 seven times this season and has made the cut in all 14 events she's played. She first made a name for herself on the LPGA Tour when she defeated Hee Kyung Seo in a three-hole playoff at the 2011 U.S. Women's Open to earn her first LPGA Tour victory and her LPGA Tour card for the 2012 season.
