Another season came to an end and with that LPGA.com caught up with several players to get their thoughts on last season, plans for the off-season and if they'll be putting down the clubs and truly take some time off. This week we check in with Sarah-Jane Smith to see what she has to say about 2012 and what she'll be doing to prepare for the 2013 season.
Describe your 2012 season using only one word?
How would you compare this season to seasons in the past?
This was my best season so far and it has help set up for a good start to 2013.
What part of your game have you been the happiest with this season?
My short game has really improved, chipping, pitching and bunkers.
How well did you meet the goals you set for yourself?
After a rough start to 2012, I got pretty close to all my goals.
You've been traveling off and on for about 10 months now, what are you most excited about at home?
Seeing my family! Plus Duane (my husband), his sister had a baby girl so we had a one month old at Christmas!
How will you spend your off-season?
Practicing and playing in Australia.
How long will you put down your clubs?
A few days here and there. I don't like to take long breaks.
Heading into the off-season do you have anything specific you want to work on with your game?
My putting. It has been improving, but still lots of work to do.
Will you have a specific exercise routine to stay fit prior to 2013?
Not really, I'll just stick to my normal routine.
How do you go about preparing for a new season?
I work really hard on my short game.
