In line with Suzann Pettersen’s surge over the last month, a teammate of Pettersen’s on Europe’s Solheim Cup-winning team has also been playing well. Germany’s Caroline Masson has taken the lead in the Louise Suggs Rolex LPGA Rookie of the Year standings following finishes of T7 and fifth the last two weeks. She trailed leader Moriya Jutanugarn by 31 points entering the Safeway Classic and moved up after Jutanugarn missed the cut. Another rookie, American Austin Ernst, has moved to fifth in the standings following a T9 last week in Portland that included a third-round 62.

Here is the current top five:
1 Masson, Caroline 398
2 Jutanugarn, Moriya 364
3 Uehara, Ayako 328
4 Arimura, Chie 282
5 Ernst, Austin 212
