I thought I would just introduce myself a little bit. My name is Stacy Lewis from The Woodlands, Texas. I graduated college last May from the University of Arkansas with degrees in Finance and Accounting. I loved college and I'm starting to miss it a little. I loved playing on a team and just having the opportunity to represent a major university. I would go back to college in a heartbeat, but you can only play four years! (I didn't really mind the schoolwork either!)
Last year, I turned pro after the Curtis Cup, which was an unbelievable experience. I would recommend it to anyone that has the opportunity. I finished 3rd at the U.S. Open, my first event as a pro, and I played in six other LPGA events. My dad was on the bag for most of last year, but this year he is back behind the ropes again. But my parents will still be there to cheer for me!
As I write this, I'm flying to Hawaii for the first event of the year! I'm very excited to get started. After Q-School in December, I took four weeks off. I definitely needed it - I was exhausted! I could barely keep my eyes open at the Rookie Orientation the day after Q-School was over. The four weeks was the most time I have taken off in the past four years. When you play both college and amateur golf, you never really have an off season.
I did visit Boston for the first time over New Year's. Being from Texas, I've never seen so much snow before! This is what it looked like the day after I got there! It was a vacation I needed! But I came back ready to practice and to get ready for the season, so the last few weeks I have just been practicing in Texas. I did also go to the PGA Show. If you ever have the opportunity you need to go at least once - it's pretty crazy!
Well, time to get ready for landing, thanks for reading my blog! Keep checking back for more updates throughout the season!
