LPGA Tour player and University of Florida graduate Sandra Gal returned to her old-stomping grounds Saturday. Gal, who won four collegiate tournaments for the Gators and was named NGCA Academic All-American four times, participated in Fan Fest as part of the LPGA Florida Road Trip Driven by Monaco RV/Alliance Coach. Prior to the big game against South Carolina, Gal shared putting tips with fans, signed autographs and handed out tickets for the LPGA Tour Championship. Inside the stadium, Gal did the Gator chomp for the first time since she graduated from her alma mater in 2008.
Two-time LPGA Tour winner Karen Stupples followed Gal on the LPGA Florida Road Trip Sunday. Stupples hopped on the Monaco RV with her family to experience their first NFL game and cheer for their favorite team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Stupples, who travels the LPGA Tour in her own RV, hosted a full-blown tailgate at RJ Stadium. She gave several fans a personalized tour of the Monaco RV and then headed inside decked out in Bucs gear to watch her team defeat the Carolina Panthers.
The LPGA Road Trip Driven by Monaco RV/Alliance Coach is a fully integrated Mobile Marketing/Media Tour that will make stops at several events throughout the state of Florida. The LPGA Tour Championship is the final tournament on the 2010 LPGA Tour schedule. The top 120 LPGA Professionals will compete for a total purse of $1.5 million and a first-place prize of $225,000 at Grand Cypress Golf Club in Orlando, Florida. The tournament will air on Golf Channel December 2-5, 2010.
