Since I last wrote, I have just finished up my first tournament of the year. So far it has not been the start I wanted to get off to, but there is plenty of golf left to play in the season. I had a few weeks off before my next tournament, so my brother, Garnet, and I headed over to Augusta on Wednesday for the Masters. I love going to the Masters whenever I have the opportunity!! The grounds there are absolutely gorgeous and we had a great day! Before I left for Mexico, I played in the Laura Crandall Brown Ovarian Cancer Foundation tournament that was held at our home course in Newnan. My brother, Garnet, along with several of his friends and Laura's family hosted the event. It was a wonderful turnout and I was so thankful that I was asked to play in the tournament. She was a friend of my Garnet's and a truly amazing young woman who fought a difficult battle with ovarian cancer. Please support and read her story at www.thinkoflaura.org.
I thoroughly enjoyed my week in Mobile for the Bell Micro LPGA Classic. I have a lot of family down there and they were able to come out and watch some of the tournament. It was great to spend time with them and the week was very relaxing! After Mobile, I had some time off and I decided to take a weekend to go to Charleston with my friends. We all had a great time and it was nice to take some time away from the golf course! After Mobile, we started a four-week stretch in Springfield, IL. The crowds and support from the community were as outstanding as they were this past week in New Jersey! This week I am in Rochester, New York, for our second major of the year. The golf course is in great shape, and I am looking forward to going out this week and just having fun on the golf course!
Happy Father's Day!!!
