Well, it has been a while since I wrote my last blog and it's about that time again. A lot has happened since the last blog. First of all, I have been doing a ton of traveling and playing lots of golf. We kicked off our season on the Duramed FUTURES Tour and are about to get down to the nitty gritty and play week after week after week. I love this time of year. Nothing is better than getting in a groove and playing tournament after tournament.
I started the season off with a bang. I finished tied for fourth in my first two tournaments and then finished solo second in Daytona Beach. I had an absolute blast in Daytona, not only because I finished second but also because my boyfriend, Martin Piller, was on the bag. We had a great time and the good finish just put icing on the cake. It was awesome to get the year started on a good note because I had been a bit sluggish at the beginning of the my last two years. I had an off week in Brownsville and missed the cut by one. I then traveled to San Antonio to have a mediocre finish there.
I have really enjoyed my off weeks. Our first off week I went to San Francisco for the first time to watch Martin play in his Nationwide event. I learned a lot from watching and being on the other side of the ropes. We even got to do some sight-seeing. I thought that the Bay Area was a really beautiful place and I found my first sand dollar down on the beach, which was really awesome because I have been looking for one since I turned pro and spent lots of time at the Florida beaches! We just had a week off, but for me it really wasn't a week off. I went to El Paso to play in an Alumni event, then to Houston to play my practice round for the Women's U.S. Open qualifier, then back to Dallas for a day's rest, and then up to Kansas to play in a pro-am before our tournament week starts.
I am super-excited for this year to get into full swing. We just started a book in our bible study called "Captivating," and it has been awesome. We have almost 30 girls in our bible study this year, which is a true blessing in itself. I am looking forward to getting to know the newcomers and getting closer to the girls I already know.
Before I wrap this up I must give a shout out to Meredith Duncan!! I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day and may God shine down on everyone's life. I look forward to next time, but until then......
