LPGA players plant trees on National Atlantic Rainforest Day in Brazil

Thursday was National Atlantic Rainforest Day in Brazil and the HSBC LPGA Brasil Cup 2010 celebrated by planting endangered species trees near the sixth hole at Itanhanga Golf Club. The city of Rio de Janeiro sits within the borders of the Tijuca Rainforest, part of the Atlantic Rainforest. LPGA players Brittany Lang, Angela Park, Eun-Hee Ji, Julieta Granada and Eunjung Yi joined sponsor exemption Macarena Silva, Itanhanga Golf Club president Arthur Porto Pires and Ana Paula Ferreira of Light, a tournament sponsor, to plant trees today. Small trees will also be available to tournament spectators on a first-come, first-serve basis to plant where they desire.
