Players go Outside The Ropes to raise money for orphaned children in Africa

LPGA professionals join Betsy King in New York to raise money for orphaned children in Africa

On Monday May 23rd, Jiyai Shin, Stacy Lewis, Brittany Lincicome, Azahara Munoz, and Katherine Hull joined LPGA and World Golf Halls of Fame member Betsy King at Glen Arbor Golf Club in Bedford Hills, New York to raise money to build homes for orphaned and vulnerable children in Africa. Despite the rainy weather participants enjoyed playing a round with three LPGA pros at the pristine Glen Arbor Golf Club.

Proceeds from the event will be used to build three homes in the Golf Fore Africa housing project in Lesotho. Last December, 2011 Kraft Nabisco champion Lewis traveled with King to Africa and they visited the housing project where Golf Fore Africa is funding 45 homes in Lesotho through World Vision.

Rolex Rankings No. 3 Shin was clearly moved by the day. Shortly after the pro-am she tweeted, "I played a pro-am. The Name is Golf fore Africa. I See the videos about the Africa, I feel sad And I think I have to help."
