Pre-tournament interview: Angela Park
Q. Angela, you were born here, but do you have plans to return to Brazil when you are done with golf?
ANGELA PARK: I'm not sure yet, but I grew up here and I think this is where I want to pursue my future after golf. I've never been here to Rio before and it's very different from Sao Paulo. Hopefully I get the chance to come here more often.
Q. Talk about this tournament. What are your hopes for it?
ANGELA PARK: I just hope all the girls have fun and that they will want to come back often.
Q. Would you like to do things other than golf in the future?
ANGELA PARK: Yes, of course. I'm looking forward to opening my own charity, and hopefully from then on I'll be able to do a lot of things.
Q. How important is the money in golf?
ANGELA PARK: I don't do it for the money; to me it's about passion.
Q. What do you think it will take for golf to grow in Brazil?
ANGELA PARK: People need to like the game. Nothing can happen if people aren't playing. We need a lot of interest. With so many people in Brazil, anything is possible.
Q. Talk about speaking in Portuguese most of this week.
ANGELA PARK: Interviews are harder, but I'm trying my best. Back in the U.S., I never use Portuguese. All my brothers speak English. But I'm trying.
