As executive director of the LPGA T&CP, Andrews will work with the LPGA T&CP Executive Committee to develop innovative programs that support the work of the LPGA and reflect the overall LPGA T&CP Strategic Action Plan. She will provide strategic vision and executive leadership for the LPGA T&CP, including its three strategic initiatives: to increase membership; to increase membership awareness; and to maintain fiscal responsibility through its educational and tournament opportunities. She also will manage the overall administration of the day-to-day affairs and staff of the LPGA T&CP.
“Leslie provides the LPGA and our T&CP members with a proven leader and entrepreneur who has executed impressive business, golf and marketing programs during her career,” said Bivens. “The valuable experience that she brings to our organization will enhance the exciting efforts currently underway, and will continue to establish the LPGA T&CP as the leading group of teaching professionals in the world.”
Since 2002, Andrews has served as president of GolfingWomen, Inc., in East Hampton, N.Y., a company that she founded. GolfingWomen helps executive women use golf as a tool for business success, including on-course instruction covering fundamentals of the full swing and effective short game techniques. Under her leadership, Andrews planned and executed golf workshops for corporate clients including Goldman Sachs, Harvard Business School, Dartmouth College, Financial Women’s Association and Executive Women’s Golf Association.
Andrews previously served as director of marketing for ESPN, Inc. from 1997-2000, and director of integrated sales and marketing from 1996-97. At ESPN, Andrews developed overall branding strategy including national television, print advertising and online media. From 1993-96, Andrews was vice president of the National Media Group, Inc., where she developed proprietary sports sponsorship properties for clients as well as provided consulting expertise to clients on use of all sports marketing vehicles.
Over the past two years, Andrews has worked at Poxabogue Golf Center in Wainscott, NY, first as a Teaching Professional and most recently as the Head Golf Professional. She also spent four years at Montauk Downs in Montauk, N.Y.
Andrews is a 1982 graduate of Wellesley College where she earned a degree in Psychology, and earned her Master’s of Business Administration from The Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College in 1990.
