Oyama earns top rookie honors as she sets new career-best finish

First-year LPGA Tour player Shiho Oyama carded a sixth-place finish at the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill, which was the highest position on the leaderboard by a rookie, as well as a new career-best mark for Oyama. The player from Japan was one of just three who carded all rounds under-par, and earned the first top-10 finish of her rookie campaign. In the race for the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year award, Oyama has now accumulated 82 points and is fifth on the list.
