Catriona Matthew secured her place in the Samsung World Championship field after winning the RICOH Women's British Open, the final major of the LPGA Tour season. Matthew joins Eun-Hee Ji (U.S. Women's Open), rookie Anna Nordqvist (McDonald's LPGA Championship Presented by Coca-Cola), Brittany Lincicome (Kraft Nabisco Championship), Paula Creamer (defending champion) and Lorena Ochoa (2008 Vare Trophy winner), all of whom have already qualified to play in the elite 20-player field at the Samsung World Championship.
