Families invited to free Kraft Nabisco Championship BookPALS Event

FAMILIES INVITED TO FREE KRAFT NABISCO CHAMPIONSHIP BOOKPALS EVENT
 
Special Guest, LPGA Pros to Help Launch New Partnership  

RANCHO MIRAGE, CALIF. (Nov. 3, 2010) – The Kraft Nabisco Championship starts a new chapter in its long history of charitable giving with a free event for kids on Saturday, Nov. 13.

The tournament’s first BookPALS(Performing Artists for Literacy in Schools) event to support the Screen Actors Guild Foundation’s Children’s Literacy Initiative will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in The River Amphitheater at The River in Rancho Mirage, Calif., located at the corner of Highway 111 and Bob Hope Drive. A special guest will read from their favorite book, and LPGA pros Nicole Castraleand Irene Cho will make guest appearances. The event is open to the public and reservations are not required.

According to Gabe Codding, Kraft Nabisco Championship tournament director, the event supports the SAG Foundation’s BookPALS program in the Coachella Valley. The BookPALS outreach is part of the SAG Foundation’s Children’s Literacy Initiative to promote literacy in communities across the country.

Tickets for the 2011 Kraft Nabisco Championship will also be sold at the event with 100 percent of the sales going to Children’s Literacy.
