RANCHO MIRAGE, CALIF. (March 25, 2010) - One of the most thrilling moments of the year in professional sports - the champion's leap into the lake at the Kraft Nabisco Championship - is just around the corner.
Last year, Brittany Lincicome dove into Poppie's Pond at the 18th green with her father and caddie. Lorena Ochoa and members of her family celebrated in 2009 with a Mexican fiesta and live mariachi band. Who will make a splash this year? Ai Miyazato of Japan is the hottest player in the world after winning the first two LPGA tournaments of the year. Other players hoping to win the Dinah Shore Trophy and wear the champion's robe include Michelle Wie, Suzann Pettersen, Natalie Gulbis, Cristie Kerr and the 2009 LPGA Rookie of the Year Jiyai Shin.
The Kraft Nabisco Championship, the first major of the year on the LPGA Tour, will be held March 29 through April 4 at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif. In addition to championship golf featuring the best women players in the world, the 2010 Kraft Nabisco Championship will offer a non-stop lineup of celebrities, golf clinics and instruction, free samples and Easter fun for the whole family.
