State Farm Classic Awards Schepperle Sponsor Exemption

One of the top ranking amateurs to join field of 144 at Panther Creek

SPRINGFIELD, IL - April 22, 2010 - The LPGA State Farm Classic has awarded a sponsor exemption to one of the nation's top amateur golfers for the second consecutive year. Candace Schepperle will join the State Farm Classic field which consists of 96 of the top 100 money list players on the LPGA Tour at Panther Creek Country Club June 10-13 in Springfield. Schepperle was selected to receive one of two sponsor exemptions available for the 35th Anniversary Tournament.

"Candace is a fantastic young athlete with incredible skill and the drive to succeed," Peters said. "I am excited to add her to the list of players who will be competing in Springfield. Candice is a talented player with a promising future and I'm certain we will see her on the Tour in the years to come."

Candace Schepperle is a senior at Auburn University where she is ranked 21st in the nation according to Golfweek after posting a 72.5 stroke average in Auburn's four Fall tournaments. Candace is currently ranked #2 amateur in the Golf.com World Rankings and #3 in the Golfweek/Titleist World Amateur Rankings. She was the runner-up in the South Atlantic Amateur in Florida in January where she broke a tournament record by five strokes.
