Three-time LPGA Tour winner Brittany Lincicome battled back from a shaky start to shoot three-under-par 69 at the RICOH Women's British Open. She began her round with a double-bogey six on the par-4 first and a bogey five on the par-4 second. Lincicome rebounded with six birdies and no further bogeys to keep herself only one shot behind the leaders. While Lincicome said that her length helped her have shorter shots into the greens, the best part of her game in round one was her putting. An adjustment last week at the Evian Masters has Lincicome draining putts from all parts of the greens, “Actually I gripped down probably an inch on the putter the beginning of last week, and for some reason it just seemed kind of easier to control the putter.”
