Three-day event offers the public a chance to win $10,000
Singapore, 21 January 2011 - HSBC brought the excitement and experience of the upcoming HSBC Women's Champions 2011 to the heart of Orchard Road at the launch of the HSBC Golf 'Live' Challenge today.
Six HSBC mascots, dressed as oversized golf balls, turned heads and created buzz as they 'teed off' at Ngee Ann City, Civic Plaza this morning. HSBC Women's Champions 2011 local entrants for the host country qualifiers were also present to launch the event, which ends on 23 January.
HSBC Golf, HSBC's latest augmented reality mobile application, serves as a colourful prelude to the HSBC Women's Champions, which will swing into town from 24 to 27 February 2011.
Eight golf holes have been set up at the venue, transforming the bustling shopping district of Orchard Road into a virtual golfing green. HSBC Golf 'Live' Challenge is a game that transports participants to one of the most formidable holes world-class golfers face at the event venue - the 8th hole at Tanah Merah Country Club.

Members of the public are welcomed to participate and be a part of this unique semi-virtual experience. The game is modeled after the sport in reality, and players will get into a full multi-sensory golfing action where they can experience vibrations and realistic sounds every time they hit the ball with their mobile devices.
There is also a chance to win S$10,000 in HSBC's Multi Currency Savings Account or one of 10 attractive runner-up prizes.
