The annual award is given to a woman who embodies the spirit of inspiration and for making a difference to the lives of women. Sheila Johnson, owner of Innisbrook, a Salamander Golf & Spa Resort, was the 2009 recipient.
Carner won 43 LPGA tournaments with two wins at the U.S. Women's Open Championship. She was a three-time Player of the Year on the LPGA Tour, a five-time Vare Trophy winner and was the LPGA's top rookie in 1970.
