DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA, November 21, 2011 - The LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) today launched USLPGA.cn, the official Chinese website of the LPGA. The site will feature live scoring for all LPGA tournaments, player information and statistics, and enhanced player blogs. The website joins USLPGA.jp (Japan) and the recently-launched USLPGA.kr (Korea) as Asian-focused websites aimed at enhancing the fan experience overseas.
"Enhancing and broadening the fan experience in China is a key element to the expansion of Golf's Global Tour," said Brian Carroll, LPGA Vice President of Television and Emerging Media. "As the LPGA's popularity continues to rise across the world, it is important for us to provide in-depth content to fans in emerging markets like China."
For the website and Weibo, the LPGA partnered with Sina, the largest Chinese-language infotainment web portal. The LPGA will have a Weibo page, as will Na Yeon Choi, Natalie Gulbis, Anna Nordqvist, Beatriz Recari, Jiyai Shin, Vicky Hurst and Sandra Gal.
The content on USLPGA.cn will be similar to that of LPGA.com and will include tournament coverage, schedule, player features and information, statistics, photos, video, television times, news and player blogs. The website is free to all users and highlighted by live scoring which is only available on LPGA official sites.
Users will be able to link directly to and from all of the LPGA's global sites - LPGA.com (www.LPGA.com), USLPGA.kr (www.USLPGA.kr), USLPGA.cn (www.USLPGA.cn) and USLPGA.jp (www.USLPGA.jp).
