Seaborn, Ai Miyazato's Caddy, named 2011 HSBC Caddy of the Year

Singapore, 26 February 2011 - HSBC today paid special tribute to Mick Seaborn, caddy for superstar golfer Ai Miyazato, who has been named as the 2011 HSBC Caddy of the Year. A unique caddy bib was presented to Seaborn by HSBC this morning before Miyazato’s third round at the HSBC Women’s Champions 2011. The bib was designed by 20-year-old Priyatna Sungkono from Raffles Design Institute and was selected as the best design as part of a special Caddy Bib Design Competition amongst 30 of the school’s students.

Seaborn was announced as the 2011 HSBC Caddy of the Year during a ‘Caddies’ Night’ event last night for his role in Miyazato’s highly-successful 2010 season which saw the Japanese golfer win five LPGA Tour events. The HSBC Caddy of the Year awards, which celebrates the unsung heroes in professional golf, have become a mainstay event for both the HSBC Women’s Champions and the HSBC Champions.

“It is all thanks to Ai really but I am delighted to win this award,” said Seaborn. “I loved the design of my bib and enjoyed wearing it today. We all look forward to HSBC’s Caddy Night and as always HSBC gave us a fantastic evening yesterday.”

Seaborn will wear the special caddy bib during the weekend of the HSBC Women’s Champions 2011.
