Global Tour Comes to South Jersey
International Stars Commit to Play ShopRite LPGA Classic

Galloway, NJ (April 26, 2011) — The LPGA is a global sport and from May 30 – June 5, Galloway Township, NJ will have the eyes of the world upon it when the ShopRite LPGA Classic begins on the historic Bay Course at Seaview - A Dolce Resort, which is now owned by nearby Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. Eight top international stars will join the ranks of the other professionals who have committed to play in the tournament. They include: Rolex Rankings No. 2 Jiyai Shin, No. 4 Na Yeon Choi, No. 5 Suzann Pettersen, No. 7 I.K. Kim, Beatriz Recari, Laura Davies, Anna Nordqvist and 2010 Louise Suggs Rookie of the Year, Azahara Munoz.
“The LPGA tour has become such a global sports property and it’s fantastic that the world’s best come to compete in Southern New Jersey,” said Tim Erensen, Tournament Executive Director. “Fans will be able to watch past champions, Hall of Famers and with golf back in the 2016 Olympics, future Olympians as well.”
The 54-hole official event will feature 150 of the world’s best professional women golfers and a $1.5M purse, with the winner receiving $225,000. Championship play begins on Friday, June 3, with the final round on Sunday, June 5 and will be televised live on the Golf Channel. Check local listings for broadcast times.
