The Game’s Best Scheduled to Play 2012 ShopRite LPGA Classic

The field includes 94 of the top 100 on the LPGA Tour money list

Galloway, NJ (April 30, 2012) — The ShopRite LPGA Classic will be underway in four weeks from May 28 – June 3 on the historic Bay Course at Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club. The best players from the Ladies Professional Golf Association will compete for a $1.5 million purse in the 54-hole, official LPGA event, which will again be televised live on Golf Channel. LPGA professionals have until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22 to officially commit to the event. Currently, the field includes 94 out of the top 100 players on the LPGA’s money list, including Rolex Rankings No. 1 Yani Tseng, who has topped the rankings list for 64 weeks and the 2011 ShopRite LPGA Classic Champion Brittany Lincicome.

The ShopRite LPGA Classic field of 144 players will showcase the best in the game of golf and includes all 2012 tour winners: Jessica Korda, Angela Stanford, Sue Young Yoo, Ai Miyazato and Stacy Lewis. Twenty-one major winners will be vying for the championship, including Suzann Pettersen, Paula Creamer, Karrie Webb and Morgan Pressel. Additionally, competing are LPGA stars Michelle Wei, Na Yeon Choi, Natalie Gulbis, Jiyai Shin, Cristie Kerr, Beatriz Recari, and 2011 LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year Hee Kyung Seo.
